post-snowstorm wind--
Tibetan prayer flags
thwapping against the house
(note: The “Windhorse prayer flag garland” i have is very small, 2.5” x 2.5” squares made of paper, and strung up against the vinyl siding they were literally making a noise. They come from the International Campaign for Tibet which works to thwart atrocities such as “…over 1 million Tibetan children as young as four years old are being cut off from their language, heritage and loved ones in state run boarding schools that are nothing more than Chinese Communist Party indoctrination centers.”)
*
all the guests gone
only the wind banging
the old storm door
*
grey winter sky
as far as the eye
can’t see
*
February sundown
an icicle glows
orange-tinted
*
who has not felt
the weight of this world?
winter moon
*
frigid night
the bowl of soup
becomes a universe
*
same Sun since day one,
but look what’s been done
to Mother Earth
